Steps
- Open the POS screen. Start an order so the product buttons are showing.
- Long-press a product. Press and hold the product button you want to colour. The Button Color picker opens.
- Pick a colour. Choose a light shade, such as Sky, Mint, Peach, Rose or Lavender, or a darker one, such as Royal Blue, Forest Green, Burnt Orange, Crimson or Teal.
- Save it. Tap the colour to apply it. The button changes straight away. Tap Cancel to leave it as it was.
- Colour the rest. Repeat for other products. A common pattern is one colour per family, such as all coffees in one shade and all pastries in another.
Ideas that help at the counter
Colour by what staff look for under pressure: drinks versus food, hot versus cold, or the top sellers in a bright colour so they stand out. Keep to a few colours so the grid stays easy to read, and pick lighter shades for products with long names so the text stays clear.
In QSR Mode you can go further with button styles, double-height buttons and a drag-and-drop grid per category.
Frequently asked questions
Do button colours work in every mode?
Yes. Per-product colours show in the classic layout, QSR Mode and Retail Mode. QSR Mode also has its own button styles, such as size and text options, that you set from the category.
How do I remove a colour?
Long-press the product again and pick a different colour, such as a light neutral shade, so it blends back in with the rest of the grid.
