Sync the database

SeroPOS keeps each till up to date on its own, checking for catalogue changes every 10 minutes and for customers more often. If you have just changed prices, products, customers or printers and need them on the till now, open the drawer and tap Sync DataBase. The till pulls the latest data from the server straight away.

Steps

  1. Make your changes. Update products, prices, categories, customers or printers in Admin or the web back office and save them.
  2. Open the drawer. On the till, tap the menu icon to open the drawer.
  3. Tap Sync DataBase. Tap Sync DataBase. A Syncing Data... message shows while the till downloads the changes.
  4. Wait for it to finish. Keep the app open until the sync completes. A full catalogue can take a little longer on a slow connection.
  5. Check the change. Open the POS screen and confirm the new price or product shows.

When to sync by hand

Automatic sync covers everyday changes, so most of the time you never need this button. Use it after a big catalogue import, a price change before opening, a new printer added on another till, or when a client till has just joined the server.

Leaving Admin also runs a background sync, so changes you make in Admin on the till itself usually appear as soon as you return to selling. Sync needs an internet connection.

Frequently asked questions

I changed a price in the back office but the till shows the old one.

The till checks for catalogue changes every 10 minutes. To get the new price immediately, open the drawer and tap Sync DataBase. If it still shows the old price, check you saved the change for the right location.

Does Sync DataBase delete sales on the till?

No. It downloads the latest catalogue, customers and settings. Sales saved on the till keep uploading as normal. To wipe a device, use Clear DB instead.
