Steps
- Gather your Moneris details. From your Moneris account, note the Merchant ID, Store ID, API token and the Terminal ID of the terminal at this till. Treat the API token like a password.
- Switch on Moneris Payments. Open the drawer, tap Settings and turn on Moneris Payments. Tap the gear to open Moneris Pay Settings.
- Enter the fields. Fill in MID, Store ID, API and Terminal ID. Each field is required.
- Check the environment. Leave the switch on Production environment for real payments. TEST environment turns the screen red and makes no real charges; use it only when testing an integration.
- Save. Tap SAVE and confirm Save the new Moneris credentials for this device?.
- Sync terminal behaviour. Under Terminal Behaviour, tap SYNC. SeroPOS reads what the terminal is set to do, which can take up to 2 minutes.
Terminal Behaviour explained
These settings live on your Moneris account, and SeroPOS shows them read-only so you know what the terminal will do: the tip prompt and its presets, Interac debit surcharge, cashback, the receipt prompt, whether the bank allows voids and refunds, and which cards are accepted. To change them, contact Moneris, then tap SYNC again.
Tips entered on the terminal come back to SeroPOS and print on the receipt.
The Moneris menu
When Moneris is on, a card icon in the app bar opens the Moneris Terminal menu: Card Transaction History, Print Last Card Receipt, Sync Terminal with Moneris and Reboot Terminal. A reboot makes the terminal unavailable for a minute or two.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I find my Moneris Store ID and API token?
They are issued with your Moneris Go account for cloud-connected terminals. Moneris can confirm them, along with the Terminal ID printed on or shown by the terminal. Enter them exactly, with no spaces.
The screen turned red after I saved.
The TEST environment is switched on, which makes no real charges. Turn the switch back to Production environment and save again before you take real payments.
Can I set tip presets in SeroPOS?
Tip prompts and presets are set on the Moneris side, not in SeroPOS. Ask Moneris to change them, then tap SYNC in Terminal Behaviour so SeroPOS shows the current setting. You can still type a tip in SeroPOS at payment.
