POS for chicken and wing restaurants

Wing shops live on takeout, game nights and orders that read like a list: two pounds, half hot and half honey garlic, extra blue cheese, fries, a two-litre. SeroPOS rings that list without fuss, routes the wings to the fryer and the sides to their own station, and adds the delivery charge on the way out.

Wings, by the count

Make each wing style a product, such as Bone-in Wings and Boneless Bites, with a variation group for the count: 6, 12, 24 and 48, or 1 lb, 2 lb and 3 lb. Each has its own price, and in QSR Mode each becomes its own button. Tenders, drumsticks and fried chicken pieces work the same way, so a 3-piece and an 8-piece bucket are separate taps.

Sauces are a modifier group with free options, from mild to suicide, plus dry rubs. Dips are a second group with a price per extra cup. When a customer wants half and half, staff pick both sauces and add a note to the line, and the ticket prints both with the note so the fryer cook tosses them separately.

Combos and party packs

A combo product bundles a wing count, a side and a drink at one meal price, and a game-day party pack can bundle 48 wings, two large fries and a two-litre the same way. Each combo is a single button on the grid in its own coloured category, so cashiers offer the deal first, and the combo name prints on the ticket for the kitchen.

On the Pro plan, recipes record the chicken, oil, sauce and packaging in each item, and SeroPOS calculates the cost per order from your purchase prices. When wing prices move with the market, update selling prices from recipe cost in bulk rather than recalculating the menu by hand, and check the Profit and Loss report by product to see which items still earn their keep.

Takeout, delivery and the phone

Takeout is most of the business, so start from the home screen. Search the caller by name or phone, and their address is already on file for delivery. Take Away and Delivery are service types, each with an optional fixed or percentage packing charge for containers. On the quick-service layout, the Delivery toggle adds a delivery charge and a tip field to the order.

On a busy night, SeroBot voice AI, integrated with Inputly.AI, can answer the phone and take orders. They arrive in your POS order queue for staff to accept before anything is cooked. SeroPOS records the delivery charge and tip but does not dispatch drivers, and a direct Uber Eats integration is rolling out in Canada as an add-on.

Stations and the rush

KOT Mapping sends wings, tenders and fries to the fryer printer, salads and dips to the cold station, and drinks to the counter. Held orders resumed to add an item print only what is new. For a screen instead of paper, KDS Mode shows tickets with timers, station filters and an All Day panel that totals how many of each wing order are still to fry.

At the end of the night, the DSR breaks sales down by order type, so you can see dine-in, takeout and delivery side by side with their tips, delivery charges and packing charges. The Product Sell Report with a time range in the back office shows how a game night compared with a regular Thursday.

Frequently asked questions

How do I set up wing sizes and sauces?

Create a wing product with a variation group for counts or pounds, each with its own price. Then create a free Sauces modifier group and a priced Dips group, and attach both to the wings. Staff choose the count, then the sauce and any extra dips.

Can I do half-and-half sauces?

Yes. Staff select both sauces from the Sauces group and add a note such as half and half to the line. Both sauces and the note print on the kitchen ticket. Sauce options are free, so the price stays the same unless you add a priced option.

Does SeroPOS add delivery and packaging charges?

Yes. Each service type can carry a fixed or percentage packing charge, and the quick-service Delivery toggle adds a delivery charge and a tip. Delivery charges, packing charges and tips appear as separate lines on the Daily Sales Report, so they are easy to reconcile at close.

Can an AI take wing orders over the phone?

Yes, with SeroBot voice AI, integrated with Inputly.AI. You create an API key in the back office and sync your menu. Phone orders arrive in the POS order queue, and staff accept each one before it goes to the kitchen.

Can wings print at the fryer and salads elsewhere?

Yes. In KOT Mapping, assign your wing, tender and fries categories to the fryer printer and salads to the cold station printer. Each held order prints the right items at each station, and later additions print only the new lines.
