POS for breweries and taprooms

A taproom sells the same beer three ways: poured at the bar, in cans to take home, and often by the case to local bars and shops. SeroPOS handles the pour, the four-pack and the wholesale invoice from one catalogue, with stock counted wherever it sits.

What you get

Breweries taprooms in SeroPOS

Pours as variations

Taster, half pint and pint of each beer are variations with their own price and their own button.

Each, four-pack, case

Sub-units let you sell a can singly or by the case, with stock counted in cans either way.

Held table orders

Hold a table's order, add the next round and settle up at the end, split however the group likes.

Stock per location

Count stock at the brewery and the taproom separately, and transfer cases between them.

Wholesale price groups

Give bars and bottle shops their own selling price group and invoice them on payment terms.

Brewing recipes on Pro

Recipes and production record the ingredients each batch uses and add finished stock at its cost.

At the bar

Set each beer up with a pour-size variation such as Taster, Half and Pint, each with its own price. On the quick-service grid every pour gets its own button, so the bartender taps Hazy IPA - Pint once. A flight can be a combo product of four tasters at one price, and the beer list can be grouped by style or by tap number with a colour per category.

Seated groups get a held order on their table. The first round prints at the bar, each later round adds to the same order and prints only what is new, and the group settles at the end with the bill split evenly, by item or by custom amounts. Tips entered on a Global Payments or Moneris terminal come back to the sale and the receipt.

Cans, packs and cases to go

Units in SeroPOS can be made of smaller units: a Case made of 24 cans, a Four-pack made of 4. Sell a single can, a four-pack or a full case of the same beer, and stock is counted in cans whichever way it leaves. Low stock alerts on the back office dashboard tell you when a can runs short before the weekend.

Merchandise such as glassware, shirts and growler fills can sit in the same catalogue with barcodes, so a USB scanner or the device camera rings them up. If you sell online through a WooCommerce store, the Pro plan can sync categories, products and stock to it and pull web orders back as sales.

Brewery, taproom and stock in between

Each business location in SeroPOS has its own stock. Keep the brewery's cold room as one location and the taproom as another, and record a stock transfer each time cases move across. The Stock Report shows current stock and its value by location, and Stock History shows every purchase, sale, adjustment and transfer for a product.

Spills, breakage and dumped batches are recorded as stock adjustments with a reason and, if you recover anything, the amount. On the Pro plan, a recipe can list the malt, hops and yeast that go into a batch, and finalizing a production run uses that ingredient stock and adds finished cans or kegs at the calculated cost per unit.

Selling to bars and shops

Wholesale customers can be put in a customer group linked to a selling price group, so they see wholesale prices automatically. Create Invoice in the back office handles an order for ten cases with the customer's billing and shipping address, pay terms and a printable A4 invoice. Customers can be given a credit limit, and the till warns when an on-account sale would go over it.

Receive Payment lists each customer's open invoices with their age, so you can record a cheque against several at once. Customer statements and the receivables ageing report show who owes what. If your accountant uses QuickBooks, the Pro plan's QuickBooks integration sends sales, customers and payments across, so the wholesale side of the brewery reaches the books without retyping.

Frequently asked questions

Can I sell beer by the can and by the case?

Yes. Set up sub-units, for example a Case made of 24 cans and a Four-pack made of 4. Sell any of them on the till and stock is reduced in cans, so the count stays right whether a customer takes one can or a full case. Purchases can be received by the case too.

Can SeroPOS track stock at the brewery and the taproom separately?

Yes. Each location keeps its own stock. Record stock transfers when product moves between them, with a status, shipping charges and notes. The Stock Report and Stock History show quantities and movements by location. An extra location costs the same as your plan each month.

Can I invoice bars that buy kegs or cases from us?

Yes. Use Create Invoice in the back office with the customer, pay terms and their wholesale price group. Record full or partial payments later in Receive Payment, and send statements. The receivables ageing report shows overdue accounts by age, and each customer's ledger can be emailed to them from their profile.

Does SeroPOS track brewing ingredients?

On the Pro plan, recipes and production let you list the ingredients and quantities in a batch, with waste and extra costs. Finalizing a production run uses that ingredient stock and adds the finished product to stock at its cost. It is costing and stock, not a brewhouse scheduling tool.

Can I run tables and a to-go counter at the same time?

Yes. Seated tables use held orders on the floor plan or table grid, and the counter rings cans and merchandise as Take Away sales on the same till. Each order carries its service type, so the Daily Sales Report shows how much came from the bar and how much went home.
