Steps
- Open Import Sales. In the sidebar, open Sell and click Import Sales. You need permission to add sales.
- Get the template. Click Download template file and fill in one row per sale line. The Instructions table lists each importable field.
- Fill in the data. Include Invoice No., the customer's phone or email, Sale Date (Y-m-d H:i:s, such as 2020-07-15 17:45:32), the Product Name or Product SKU, Quantity and Unit Price. Item Tax, Item Discount, Product Unit and Order Total are optional.
- Upload. Choose the file in File To Import and click Upload and review.
- Map the columns. On Preview Imported Sales, set Group sell line by (the column that groups lines into one invoice, usually Invoice No.), choose the Business Location, and pick the field for each column or SKIP.
- Submit. Click Submit. SeroPOS checks that each line has a customer phone or email, a product name or SKU, a quantity and a unit price, and says Sales imported successfully when done.
- Undo a batch. The Imports table lists each Import batch with Import time, Created By and Invoices. Click Revert Import to remove a batch; it needs permission to delete sales.
Before you import
Import products and contacts first so the SKUs and customers match. A product name works for single and combo products; variable products need the SKU. Each field can be chosen only once on the preview. Try a small file first and check the invoices in All Sales before you load years of history.
Frequently asked questions
How do I import several lines into one invoice?
Give every line of the same invoice the same value in one column, usually Invoice No., and choose that column in Group sell line by on the preview. Lines with the same value become one invoice.
Can I undo an import?
Yes. The Imports table on the Import Sales page lists each batch. Click Revert Import on the batch to remove the sales it created. Your role needs permission to delete sales.
