Steps
- Check the unread count. Look at the bell icon at the top right of any back office page. The badge shows how many notifications you haven't read yet.
- Open the list. Click the bell. A drop-down lists your most recent notifications, newest first, with the count of unread ones at the top.
- Read a notification. Click a notification to open its details. Opening it marks it as read and the badge count goes down.
- Load older ones. Scroll to the bottom of the list and click Load More to see earlier notifications.
- Follow up. Act on what it tells you, for example open Sell › Subscriptions to check a generated invoice, or the accounting screen to retry a failed sync.
What creates a notification
Notifications come from work the system does in the background, so you know it happened without checking each screen. If nothing is listed, you see No notifications found.
- A new invoice generated from a recurring invoice (subscription)
- A new recurring expense generated
- An accounting sync that failed and needs a look
Notifications and customer messages
The bell is for your own users. Emails and texts you send to customers and suppliers, such as a new-sale receipt or a payment reminder, are set up separately under Notification Templates.
Frequently asked questions
Why don't I see any notifications?
The bell only shows events for your business, such as recurring invoices or expenses being generated. If you don't use those features, the list may stay empty and show No notifications found.
Do all users see the same notifications?
Notifications are sent to users, so what you see depends on your user and role. Admins usually see the most, because they own recurring invoices, expenses and accounting connections.
