Servers see the orders that are theirs
Servers get their own Orders screen in the back office. It lists only the orders they are serving, shows what the kitchen has finished, and lets them mark food as served line by line.

A working list for each server
On a busy floor, servers need to know which of their dishes are up and which tables are still waiting. The Orders screen in the web back office answers that. Each server sees their own orders, not the whole restaurant's, with the items on each. When the kitchen marks an order cooked, it shows as ready, so the server knows to pick it up.
The screen works on a tablet or phone browser as well as a PC, so it can sit at a service station or in a server's hand. Because it is part of the web back office, there is nothing to install, and each server simply signs in with their own user to see their own list.
Served, line by line
Food does not always leave the kitchen in one go. Starters go first, mains later, and a forgotten side follows on its own. Servers can mark a single line as served or the whole order at once. The order stays on their list until everything has reached the table. Nothing is forgotten at the pass.
When a runner is taking food for someone else, the server can print a line order: a slip with just those items, so the runner knows what goes where. It is a small touch that helps on busy nights, when food goes out with whoever has free hands and the server is still taking another table's order.

How orders get a server
An order belongs to a server when it is taken under their name. On the till, the Multiple User setting asks staff to pick themselves from Select Waiter before each order, and the order and its table carry their name. In the back office, the POS settings can turn on service staff on each product line, and can make a service staff choice required.
Servers need a role marked as Service staff. Turn on the Service Staff module in Business Settings › Modules to show the Orders menu. Once that is in place, every order a server takes appears on their Orders screen automatically, and the kitchen screen and reports pick up the same name without any extra steps.
Reporting on service staff
Every order keeps its server, so the back office can report on it. The Service Staff Report shows orders and line orders per server over a date range and location. The All Sales list can show a service staff column and be filtered by it, which helps with tip-outs, coaching and spotting the shifts that need another person.
Combined with the Table Report, you get a picture of who served which section and what it earned. Managers can use that view when planning rotas, balancing sections between servers, or rewarding the team members who carry the busiest shifts week after week. It is all built from the orders staff already take.
Frequently asked questions
How do servers see only their own orders?
Orders are linked to the service staff member who took them. When a server signs in to the back office and opens Orders, the screen lists the orders and line orders assigned to them, not the whole restaurant's. Each server signs in with their own user.
How does a server know food is ready?
When the kitchen presses Mark as cooked on the web kitchen screen, the order shows as ready on the server's Orders screen. The server can then pick it up and mark it served. Nobody has to shout across the kitchen.
Can I mark part of an order as served?
Yes. Each line can be marked as served on its own, which suits courses that leave the kitchen at different times. You can also mark the whole order as served in one step. The order stays on the list until every line is served.
What do I need to turn on to use service staff orders?
Turn on the Service Staff module in Business Settings › Modules, then give servers a role marked as Service staff. On the till, turn on Multiple User so staff choose themselves before each order. Your role editor controls who counts as service staff.
Can I report on orders per server?
Yes. The Service Staff Report in the back office shows orders and line orders per server, filtered by location and date range. The All Sales list can also show and filter by service staff. Managers often use it for tip-outs and rotas.
