Arrange product buttons your way
Your menu is not alphabetical and your best sellers should not be hard to find. SeroPOS lets you colour, size and place product buttons so the till matches how your staff think.
Make every screen your own
Every screen below is the same SeroPOS app on a Windows till. Nothing needs a developer: each change is a switch or a long-press, made on the till during a quiet moment, and it reaches every till in the business.
- 01
Restaurant mode: picture buttons, modifiers on each cart line, HOLD to send to the kitchen and PAY. - 02
The same till in QSR Mode: a dense grid and pay buttons right under the cart, no separate pay screen. - 03
QSR Settings: the category panel, the product grid and which controls the cashier sees. - 04
More QSR Settings: printing, which cart buttons show, Quantity First, the cart side and the click sound. - 05
Long-press a product for Button Style: any colour, font colour and size, bold and double height, previewed live. - 06
Every product its own colour, here on a dark theme: staff find an item by colour before they read it. - 07
Long-press a category for its own colour, columns, rows per section, price order and drag mode. - 08
Enable drag: move each product into the exact cell you want, then Save Layout. - 09
The result, with Cart on Right switched off: the styled button, every product where it was dragged, and the cart on the left. - 10
Even the payment buttons: long-press Cash, Debit or Credit and pick Normal, Large or Extra Large for that till.

Why button layout matters
Staff do not read buttons during a rush; they reach for where the item usually is. A layout that puts the most popular items in the same spot every day, coloured so they stand out, saves seconds on every order and cuts mistakes. SeroPOS gives you control over colour, size, order and placement, so you can design the grid around your menu rather than the other way round.
Changes are made on the till itself with a long-press, so you can adjust a layout during a quiet moment and see the result straight away. Colours and QSR styles are stored with your products and categories on the server, so every till in the business picks them up after the next sync.
Colours on every screen
In the standard layout and on phones, long-press any product button to open the Button Color picker. Choose from soft pastels or bold colours, with light and dark shades, and the button changes at once. Colour by category, by type of item or by station, for example all hot drinks in one colour and cold drinks in another.
On phones, the Show Product Images setting lets you switch between picture cards and plain name-and-price cards. Plain cards fit more on a small screen, while pictures help new staff and are useful for items that look alike by name. Product images are added from the camera or gallery in the Admin hub product form.
Full control in QSR Mode
QSR Mode adds Button Style. Long-press a product and pick a colour from a swatch, a hue slider or a hex code, choose an automatic, white or black font, set the font size and bold, and make the button double height so it stands out. You can also set the button to ask for a quantity each time it is tapped.
Long-press a category for the same style options plus grid controls. Set its column count and rows per section, choose whether products sort with low or high prices first, and turn on Enable drag. With drag on, move products into exact cells on the grid and tap Save Layout. QSR Settings set the defaults: two to ten product columns, a one or two column category panel and up to twenty categories without scrolling.
- Grid types: fixed, sectioned or drag-placed
- Per-product: colour, font colour, font size, bold, double height, ask quantity
- Per-category: columns, rows per section, price order, drag
- Global: default columns, ALL CAPS names, images, food-type dots
The cart and pay buttons
Even the payment buttons can be resized. Long-press Cash, Debit or Credit to open Payment Button Size: Normal for classic compact buttons, Large at one and a half times the height with bigger text, or Extra Large at double height. Long-press Hold, Delivery, Adjust, Split or Print for Bottom Button Size, and the quantity keypad's header for Quantity Keypad Size. Each size is separate and is remembered on that till, so a wall-mounted screen and a small tablet can each have their own. Bigger buttons suit busy counters and quick hands; smaller ones leave more room for products.
QSR Settings also let you place the cart on the right or the left, hide buttons you do not use, such as Split, Delivery, Clear or Adjust, and turn the search bar and modifier pop-up on or off. With a few changes, a pizza counter, a coffee bar and a convenience store can all run the same app with layouts that look nothing alike.
Frequently asked questions
How do I change the colour of a product button in SeroPOS?
Long-press the product on the sale screen to open the Button Color picker and choose a colour. In QSR Mode, long-press opens Button Style instead, where you can pick a colour by swatch, hue or hex code and also change the font, size and height of the button.
Can I drag and drop products into a custom order?
Yes, in QSR Mode. Long-press a category, turn on Enable drag, then move products into the cells where you want them and tap Save Layout. The grid keeps that arrangement until you change it, so staff always find items in the same place.
Can I make my best sellers bigger?
Yes. In QSR Mode, long-press a product to open Button Style and turn on Double-height button. You can also increase the font size and make the name bold. Combine it with a bright colour so the item is easy to spot during a rush.
Do button layouts sync between tills?
Product and category colours, QSR button styles and QSR Settings are saved to the server, so other tills pick them up after they sync. Run Sync DataBase from the side drawer if you want a till to pick up a new layout straight away.
Can I move the cart to the left side?
Yes. In QSR Mode, open QSR Settings and turn off Cart on Right to move the cart to the left of the product grid. This helps left-handed staff or counters where the customer stands on the other side of the screen.
