A till that looks like your business
The till is one of the few pieces of software your customers actually see. A screen in your own colours looks deliberate, while a default blue screen looks like something you have not got round to setting up. SeroPOS includes 30 professional themes so you can match the till to your signage, menu boards or interior without any design work.
Themes change the colours used across the app: the app bar, buttons, panels, highlights and dialogs. They do not change your layout, products or settings, so you can try a few during a quiet moment and switch back if staff prefer the old look. The default theme is Corporate Blue.
Choosing a theme
Open the side drawer and tap App Theme. The Professional Themes screen lists all 30 options. Tap one and it is applied straight away across the whole app, so you see exactly how the sale screen, cart and menus will look. If it does not suit, tap another; there is no limit on how often you change.
The range covers deep, formal colours and lighter, softer ones. A cocktail bar might pick Midnight Blue or Burgundy Wine, a bakery Cream Vanilla or Rose Gold, a juice bar Ocean Breeze or Coral Sunset. Try a theme under your real lighting, since a colour that looks good in an office can look different under warm restaurant lights.

One theme per till
Themes are saved on each device, not across the business. That is useful when tills do different jobs: a bar till can use a darker theme that is easier on the eyes in low light, while the front counter uses a bright one. Staff can tell at a glance which till is which, and a server picking up an order at another station still sees the same layout.
Because the theme belongs to the device, a new till starts on the default theme until you pick one. If you reinstall the app or clear the database on a device, choose the theme again. Everything else, from products to button colours, comes back from the server with the normal sync.
Themes and other look-and-feel settings
Themes work alongside the other ways to shape the till. Product button colours set with a long-press stay as they are, so your colour-coded categories keep their meaning whatever the theme. In QSR Mode, Button Style controls colours, fonts and sizes for individual products and categories, and QSR Settings can show names in ALL CAPS.
For readability, you can also zoom the whole app with Ctrl or Cmd plus and minus on a desktop, or pinch on an iPad, and press F11 for full screen on Windows. A customer-facing display has its own dark or light theme in the Multi Monitor settings, separate from the theme on the till.

How do I change the theme in SeroPOS?
Open the side drawer and tap App Theme. Pick one of the 30 professional themes and it applies to the whole app straight away. The choice is saved on that device, so other tills keep their own theme until you change them too.
Are app themes included in my plan?
Yes. App Theme is available on any paid plan, Standard at $30 a month or Pro at $50 a month, and during the 14-day free trial. There is nothing extra to buy, and every till in the business can use any of the 30 themes.
Will changing the theme change my button colours?
No. Themes change the app's own colours, such as the app bar, panels and dialogs. Product button colours you set with a long-press, and QSR button styles, stay exactly as you set them, so colour-coded categories keep working with any theme.
Can each till use a different theme?
Yes. Themes are saved per device, so you can give the bar, the front counter and the kitchen-side till different looks. Staff can then tell tills apart at a glance. A new or reinstalled till starts on the default Corporate Blue theme.
Can I create my own custom theme?
Today you choose from the 30 built-in themes, which cover a wide range of colours from Navy & Gold to Lavender Mist. You can also colour individual product buttons, and in QSR Mode set exact hex colours for products and categories, to bring in your brand colours.
