POS for jewellery stores
In a jewellery store a single ring can be worth a week of sales, so you need to know exactly which piece left the case and who bought it. SeroPOS records the serial number on the sale, prints the warranty on the invoice and tracks repairs from intake to pickup.

Know which piece was sold
On the product form, turn on serial or IMEI tracking. When a piece is sold, the serial number or description is recorded on the sale line and prints on the invoice, so the record shows exactly which watch or ring the customer took home. Invoice layouts can show the product's sale description, which is useful for stone details, metal and size.
Racks, rows and positions can be set per location for each product, which helps staff note which case or tray a piece lives in. Users can be limited to certain locations, and each user can have a maximum discount percentage, so a new associate can't discount a diamond by more than you allow. The Activity Log records who did what in the back office.
Warranties, quotes and deposits
Create warranties with a name, description and duration in days, months or years, then attach one to a product. The warranty name, expiry and description can print on the invoice, so the customer leaves with the cover written down. For engagement rings and custom work, a quotation with a PDF and a public link lets the customer review and accept the price.
When they say yes, convert it into an invoice and record a deposit as a partial payment. The balance stays on the customer's account until the piece is collected, and Receive Payment finds open invoices by customer name or phone. The dashboard lists sales with payments due, and the customer ledger can be emailed when you need to send a reminder.
- Warranty name and expiry printed on the invoice
- Quotations with a PDF and accept link
- Deposits as partial payments
- Open balances in Receive Payment
Repairs, resizing and cleaning
The Repair add-on module gives you job sheets for every piece taken in. Record the customer, the brand and type of item, a serial number if it has one, the problem reported, its condition and any accessories left with it. Add an estimated cost, a promised date, the person doing the work and photos of the piece at intake, then print the job sheet with your terms and a signature block.
As the work moves through your statuses, such as Received, With Goldsmith and Ready, staff change the status and can notify the customer by SMS. The customer can also look up the repair on the public repair status page with the job sheet number. When it is done, create the repair invoice from the job sheet and take payment at the till.
Customers who come back
Jewellery is bought for birthdays, anniversaries and graduations. Customer profiles hold contact details and a date of birth, plus every sale, payment and document. Documents and notes can hold a ring size or a sketch. With the CRM on the Pro plan, the CRM dashboard lists upcoming birthdays, and follow-ups remind staff to call a customer before a date that matters.
Reward points are available if you want them, and customer groups can carry a standing discount for trade buyers. Reports show sales by customer, by product and by sales representative, with commission if you pay staff on what they sell. Set a commission percentage on each user, and the Sales Representative Report totals what each associate earned in the period.
Frequently asked questions
Can a jewellery POS track pieces by serial number?
Yes. Turn on serial or IMEI tracking on the product and the serial or description of the piece sold is recorded on the sale line and can print on the invoice. That gives you a record of exactly which item each customer bought, which matters for insurance appraisals and warranty claims.
Can I print a warranty on the receipt?
Yes. Create a warranty with its duration and attach it to the product. Invoice layouts can print the warranty name, expiry date and description beside the item, so the customer's cover is on the invoice they take home and on any reprint or emailed copy.
Does SeroPOS track jewellery repairs?
Yes, with the Repair add-on module. Each repair gets a job sheet with the item, condition, problem, estimate, promised date and photos. Staff update the status as work progresses, can notify the customer by SMS, and customers check progress on the repair status page.
Can I take a deposit on a custom ring?
Yes. Create an invoice for the ring and record the deposit as a partial payment. The rest stays as a balance on the customer's account, and you collect it with Receive Payment when the ring is ready. Quotations can come first if the customer wants a price in writing.
Is there layaway?
There is no separate layaway screen. Stores use an invoice with partial payments instead: the customer pays a deposit, makes further payments against the same invoice, and takes the piece when it is paid in full. Open balances show on the dashboard and in Receive Payment.
