A real POS on the phone you already own

SeroPOS runs on Android phones and iPhones with a phone layout: Home, Categories and Cart tabs and a compact payment screen. Add your products in the app's Admin or the web back office, with a photo, price and tax. Customers can be looked up by name or phone and added to a sale, so you build a list of who buys what.

When you go to a market or a craft fair, the same app goes with you. Sales are saved on the phone if the signal drops and uploaded when it returns. Cards can be taken on a Global Payments T650P running SeroPOS itself, or on a Moneris Go or Global Pay Cloud terminal paired with the app over the internet.

Invoices you can send as a link

Many home sales are paid later: a batch of custom cookies, a commissioned painting, a month of meal prep. Create an invoice in the back office with the customer, the items, a pay term and any shipping charge. Each invoice has a shareable link, so you can text or email it and the customer opens a clean invoice page in their browser.

Record a deposit as a partial payment and the balance stays open until it is paid. Receive Payment finds open invoices by customer or phone and records what comes in, by e-transfer, cash or card. Notification templates send payment reminders and receipts by email or SMS, using your wording. The dashboard lists invoices with payments due in the next seven days.

An online catalogue customers order from

The Online ordering & QR add-on module gives each location a mobile-first catalogue page: your products with photos, variations, options and a cart. Share the link on social media or print the QR code with your logo on a flyer. Customers can register or check out as a guest, choose a service type such as pickup, and leave order notes.

Orders land in SeroPOS with an alert and a count on the cloud icon, and you move them to the cart to complete. Customers can pay online by card, or choose a method such as cash or e-transfer to pay on pickup. The catalogue doesn't calculate delivery fees, so charge for delivery as a separate item if you offer it.

Keeping the books tidy

Stock is tracked for products you make or resell, with an alert quantity so you know when to restock. Supplies bought for the business can be recorded as purchases, which add stock, or as expenses with a category, tax and a photo of the receipt. The Profit / Loss Report brings sales, purchases and expenses together for any date range.

The Tax Report shows the tax you collected on sales and paid on purchases and expenses, which helps at filing time. If your bookkeeper wants access, Invite Accountant gives them a one-time code, and you can see who opened your books and withdraw access at any time. Withdrawing access takes effect immediately.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good POS for a home-based business?

One that runs on your phone, sends invoices, can take cards and costs little each month. SeroPOS does this from $30 a month on Standard, billed monthly, with a 14-day free trial and no card to start. An online catalogue is available as an add-on.

Can I send customers an invoice by text?

Yes. Each invoice has a shareable link that opens a customer-facing invoice page in any browser. Copy the link into a text or email, or send it with a notification template. Partial payments and pay terms are supported for customers who pay later.

Can customers order online from my home business?

Yes, with the Online ordering & QR add-on module. You get a catalogue page for your products with variations, options and a cart. Orders arrive in SeroPOS, and customers can pay by card online or choose to pay on pickup.

Do I need a card reader?

Not to start. You can take cash and e-transfer, record them as payment methods, and use invoices for people who pay later. When you want to take cards in person, SeroPOS works with Global Payments, Moneris and Gravity Payments terminals.

Can SeroPOS track my expenses?

Yes. Expenses record the category, date, amount, tax and an attached receipt. The Expense Report totals them by category, and the Profit / Loss Report shows sales minus purchases and expenses. The Tax Report shows tax collected and paid for the period.
