POS for Chinese restaurants
A Chinese restaurant kitchen is several kitchens under one roof: the wok line, the dim sum steamers, the BBQ counter and often a busy takeout window. SeroPOS sends each dish to the station that makes it, keeps takeout orders moving by phone number, and splits a shared family-style meal the way the table wants.

Every dish to the right station
KOT Mapping is set up once in the till's drawer. Create a KOT for each station, choose its printer, and assign categories or individual products: stir-fries, noodles and fried rice to the wok line, har gow and siu mai to the dim sum steamers, char siu and roast duck to the BBQ counter, soups and appetizers to the cold station. Each printer receives only its own items.
When the table orders another round of dumplings, the server adds them to the held order and holds again. Only the new items print. Items the kitchen has already started are locked on the order. If you would rather use screens, KDS Mode turns a tablet into a kitchen display with station filters, timers and an All Day total of each dish still to make.
Takeout at speed
For many Chinese restaurants the phone and the takeout counter are half the business. Search the caller by phone number from the home screen; regulars come up with their name and address. Take Away goes straight to the menu, while Delivery requires an address so the ticket and receipt carry it. A packing charge on each service type covers containers and bags.
Held Sales lists every open order and can be filtered by Takeaway, so the counter can see which orders are waiting and resume one to take payment at pickup. A direct Uber Eats integration is rolling out in Canada as an add-on, bringing those orders into the same till with a ring alert. SeroPOS does not dispatch delivery drivers.
Combination plates and family dinners
Combination plates and dinner-for-two, -four or -six menus are combo products: create one in the back office from the dishes it includes, give it a set price and a button on the till. Dish names, numbers and categories can match your printed menu, so a caller who asks for number 42 is found with a search for 42 if the number is in the name or SKU.
Multiple POS menus let you keep dim sum on a lunch menu and the full dinner list on another, plus a takeout menu if your prices differ. A selling price group can be attached to a type of service per location, which is how some restaurants charge a different price for takeout than for dining in.
Settling a family-style table
Shared dishes make item-by-item splits awkward, so most tables split evenly. Tap Split, choose Even and the number of parts, and each guest pays their share with their own card or cash. Custom amounts handle the uncle who insists on paying more, and Item Wise is there for the table that did order separately. Each part can have its own tip.
Tips entered on a Global Payments or Moneris terminal come back to the sale and print on the receipt. At close the DSR shows orders by type, so dine-in, takeaway and delivery sales and tips are listed side by side, and the back office emails the same daily sales report each night.
Frequently asked questions
Can wok, dim sum and BBQ orders print on separate printers?
Yes. In KOT Mapping, create a KOT for each station with its own printer, and assign the categories or products that station cooks. A mixed order prints the right dishes at each station, and items added later print only the new lines.
How do I take phone orders quickly?
Search the customer by phone number on the home screen. A regular's name and address are already saved, so choose Take Away or Delivery and start ringing. New callers can be added with their number and address in the same place.
Can I set up dinner-for-four specials?
Yes. Create a combo product that includes the dishes in the special and give it one price. It sells as one line with one button, and you can keep combos in their own category on the till, matching the combination section of your menu.
How do I split a shared family-style bill?
Tap Split on the payment screen, choose Even and enter the number of guests. Each part is paid separately with its own method and tip. You can also split by percent, by custom amounts or by item when guests ordered their own dishes.
Can takeout have different prices from dine-in?
Yes. Create a selling price group with your takeout prices and assign it to the Take Away type of service for that location. Orders started as takeout then use those prices. Each type of service can also add its own packing charge.
