What you get

Customer feedback in SeroPOS

Link in the new-sale message

Add the feedback link tag to the New Sale template and every customer gets their own review link.

Stars per product

The page lists the items on that sale and the customer gives each one a star rating.

A comment box

Customers can add a comment in their own words about the order or the service.

No login needed

The page opens in any browser from the link, with nothing to sign up for or install.

Tied to the sale

Each review belongs to a real sale, so you know what the customer bought and when.

Email or SMS

Send the request by email or SMS, using the same template that carries the invoice link.

How it works

Customer feedback runs through the New Sale notification. In Notification Templates, edit the New Sale message and add the feedback link tag. When the message goes out after a sale, by email or SMS, it includes a link to that sale's Leave a review page. Each sale gets its own link.

The customer taps the link and sees the products they bought. They give each one a star rating, add a comment if they want and submit. There is no login or account, which keeps the effort low and the response rate higher than a general survey. Because the page lists only what they bought, answers are specific and useful.

Writing a request customers answer

Keep the message short and personal. Thank them by name, include the invoice link so they have their receipt, and ask one simple question with the feedback link after it. The template's tags fill in the customer's name, the invoice number and the links for each sale. Short, personal messages are far more likely to get a reply.

Timing matters. Because the message goes with the new sale, the request arrives while the visit is fresh. For a restaurant that can be the same evening; for a retail order it may be better once the goods are delivered, which you can manage by sending the message yourself from the sale.

  • Thank the customer by name
  • Include the invoice link
  • Ask one question
  • Add the feedback link last

What you learn from it

Ratings by product show which items customers love and which disappoint. A dish that keeps getting two stars, or a product that draws comments about quality, is something you can fix or drop. Comments often tell you about service, wait times or packaging that sales figures never show. Watch for patterns over a few weeks rather than reacting to one review.

Because each review is tied to a sale, you can follow up properly. Look up the sale, see what the customer bought and who served them, and contact them if something went wrong. A quick reply to a poor review often wins the customer back. Thank customers who leave good reviews too.

Setting it up

You need a way to send messages: email settings and, for text messages, SMS settings in Business Settings. Then open Notification Templates, choose New Sale, add the feedback link tag to the email or SMS body and save. Turn on automatic sending for new sales if you want every customer to get the message.

Customers need an email address or mobile number on their record for the message to reach them. Walk-in sales without contact details will not get a request, so ask regulars for their details at the till. Over time, more customers on record means more feedback coming in. Even a few regulars help.

Frequently asked questions

How do customers leave a review?

They tap the feedback link in the message they received after their purchase. A Leave a review page opens with the products from that sale, where they give each one a star rating and can add a comment. It takes less than a minute.

Do customers need to sign up to leave feedback?

No. The page opens from the link in any browser, with no login, app or account. That keeps the effort small, which tends to get more customers to respond. Customers can answer from their phone in seconds. Most people answer from a phone.

Can I send the feedback request by SMS?

Yes. Add the feedback link tag to the SMS body of the New Sale template. You need SMS settings configured in Business Settings, and the customer needs a mobile number on their record. Email works the same way. It reaches people who rarely read email.

Are reviews posted publicly?

The Leave a review page collects ratings and comments for you. It does not post them to public review sites. If you want public reviews, add a separate line in your message asking happy customers to review you online. Feedback stays for you to act on.

Which sales get a feedback request?

Any sale where the New Sale message is sent to a customer with an email address or mobile number. Turn on automatic sending for new sales to include every one, or send the message from individual sales. Sales without contact details do not get one.
