Every till and the back office in sync
Every SeroPOS till and the web back office work from the same data. Sales upload from the till as they happen, and product, price and customer changes made in the back office reach the tills within minutes, with a Sync DataBase button for when you need it now.
Cloud sync in SeroPOS
Sales upload continuously
Each sale is saved on the till and uploaded in the background, retrying until it reaches the server.
Catalogue updates
Product and price changes from the back office reach the tills on the next catalogue sync, about every 10 minutes.
Customers stay current
New and edited customers sync about every 80 seconds, so a customer added at one till is soon on the others.
Printers by location
Printer setups sync per location from the server, so a replacement tablet picks them up.
Sync DataBase
Force a full sync from the drawer when you have just made a change and want it on the till now.
Online indicator
The app bar shows whether the till is online, so staff know when sales are uploading.
How sales reach the back office
When a sale is completed, the SeroPOS app saves it on the device first, with a token unique to that till. A background upload sends pending sales to the server about every 20 seconds while the till is online. If the upload fails, the app keeps trying with longer gaps between attempts. Sales are never dropped.
Once on the server, the sale is in the back office: in All Sales, on the customer's record, in stock levels and in every report. Owners can check the day's takings from a laptop at home while the shop is still open. Nothing has to be exported or copied by hand.
How changes reach the tills
Products, prices, categories, modifiers and other catalogue changes are made in the back office or in the app's Admin. The tills check for catalogue changes about every 10 minutes and download only what has changed. Customers sync more often, about every 80 seconds, because they change during the day. It keeps data use low.
When you have just changed a price and want it on the till straight away, open the drawer and tap Sync DataBase. The till pulls everything down at once. Leaving the app's Admin screens also runs a sync. Sync after any big change, such as a new menu, before service starts.

Several tills, one picture
Because every till sends its sales to the same account, reports always cover the whole business. Two tills at the counter, a phone on the patio and a kiosk at the door all add up in the daily sales report and the stock report. There is no end-of-day upload to remember, and no till's sales are left out of the totals.
For several tills that must share held orders, tables and the kitchen display instantly, even without internet, the Pro plan's server and client mode makes one Windows till the server for the others on your network. Choose it if your tills need to share orders in real time. Most single-counter shops never need it.
Starting fresh on a device
Because your data is in your account, a new or replacement device just needs you to sign in. The app downloads your catalogue, customers and printer setup. If a device is being handed on or retired, Clear DB in the drawer wipes this device's local data and logs out; your account and everything on the server are untouched.
Check that a till has no unsent sales before clearing it. The online indicator and the app's warnings about sales not yet sent to the server tell you when everything has uploaded. If a till shows unsent sales, connect it to the internet and let it finish uploading first, then clear it.
Frequently asked questions
How quickly do back-office changes show on the till?
Catalogue changes reach the tills on the next catalogue sync, about every 10 minutes. Customers sync about every 80 seconds. To see a change straight away, tap Sync DataBase in the app's drawer. The catalogue then matches the back office straight away.
What happens if the internet drops during a sale?
The sale is saved on the device and uploaded once the till is back online. The app keeps retrying in the background, and sales are never dropped. Kitchen tickets keep printing while offline. There is nothing for staff to do once the connection returns.
Do I lose my data if a tablet breaks?
Sales that have uploaded are safe on the server, and your catalogue and customers are in your account. Sign in on a new device and they download. Only sales not yet uploaded live on the device itself. Keep tills online when you can, so uploads stay current.
Can I check sales from home?
Yes. Sign in to the web back office from any browser. Sales from every till appear as they upload, in All Sales, the dashboard and reports. It is useful for checking takings during the day or after closing, wherever you are.
What does Clear DB do?
Clear DB wipes the local data on that one device and logs out. It does not touch your account or anything on the server. Use it when retiring a device, after checking that no sales are waiting to upload. Use it when a device is replaced.
