Why log calls

Phone calls are where a lot of customer relationships happen, especially for trade accounts, catering orders and service businesses. When nobody writes them down, the next person to call has no idea what was said, and customers end up repeating themselves. That costs time and goodwill, and it makes the business look disorganised to a customer who just wants an answer.

The call log keeps a record without anyone typing notes after every call. It shows who spoke to whom, when and for how long, which is often enough to know whether a customer has been contacted this week. It is a simple record that helps the whole team stay on the same page.

What the call log shows

Open the CRM in the back office and go to Call Log. Each entry shows the person who recorded the call, its duration and the call type, so you can see at a glance how much time the team is spending on the phone with customers. Managers can see the team's phone activity without asking anyone to fill in a spreadsheet.

Entries come from the mobile app, which records calls and sends them to SeroPOS. Use mass delete to remove entries you do not need, such as personal calls or old test entries. Regular tidying keeps the log useful and easy to read, so the calls that matter stand out. Delete only what you are sure about.

Who sees which calls

CRM permissions include viewing all call logs or only your own. Give salespeople their own calls and managers everyone's. That keeps each person focused on their accounts, while managers can see which customers are getting attention and which are being left alone. Customers get a consistent experience whoever answers. Choose what suits you.

For a small team, letting everyone see all calls is often simpler. Anyone picking up a customer's call can check who spoke to them last and follow on from there. It is the simplest setup to run, and it means nobody calls a customer twice in one morning by accident.

Using it with follow-ups

The call log records that a call happened. The follow-up log records what was agreed. Use both: schedule a follow-up for the next step, make the call, and log the outcome. The next time anyone opens that lead or customer, the history is there. That history makes every conversation easier, and it means a customer never has to explain their situation twice.

CRM reports show follow-ups by user and by contact. Together with the call log, they give a manager a fair picture of how much contact each customer is getting. The call log is part of the CRM in the Pro plan. Choose a plan before the trial ends to keep your call history.

Frequently asked questions

How do calls get into the call log?

Calls are recorded by the mobile app and sent to SeroPOS, where they appear in the Call Log screen of the CRM. Each entry shows who recorded the call, how long it lasted and the call type, and permissions decide who can see it.

Can I see only my own calls?

CRM permissions include viewing all call logs or only your own. Your administrator sets this on your role. Managers usually see all calls, and salespeople see their own. Ask your administrator if you need wider access to the team's calls.

Can I delete call log entries?

Yes. The call log has a mass delete option, so you can select several entries and remove them at once. Use it for personal calls or entries that do not belong in the CRM. Regular tidying keeps the log easy to read and focused on calls that matter.

Does the call log record what was said?

No. It records who called, when, for how long and the call type. Use the follow-up log to note what was agreed, so the next person knows the outcome. Together they give a full picture of each conversation with a customer.

Which plan includes the call log?

The call log is part of the CRM, which comes with the Pro plan at $50 a month. The 14-day free trial includes it, with no card needed. Your call history stays in place when you choose a plan. Nothing is lost.
