POS for Canadian businesses
Selling in Canada means GST everywhere, HST in some provinces, PST or QST in others, and terminals that handle Interac debit. SeroPOS is built in Canada, with tax groups for each province, Moneris and Global Payments terminals and QuickBooks Desktop for the Canadian edition.

Built in Canada
SeroPOS is built in Canada, with provincial taxes, Canadian terminals and the Canadian edition of QuickBooks in mind.
Sales tax the way Canada does it
Create each tax rate in Admin or the back office, then combine them into tax groups: BC TAX as GST 5% plus PST 7%, MB TAX as GST plus RST, or a single HST rate for Ontario or the Atlantic provinces. A rate of zero marks a product as exempt. Each product carries its tax and whether its price includes tax, and the till adds the right amount line by line.
Receipts print your business tax numbers, and the Tax tab in Business Settings holds two tax names and numbers, such as GST/HST and PST. The back office also has a tax setup screen with one-click Canadian rates and product tax categories, such as zero-rated or PST-exempt, for businesses that sell across provinces.

Reports that match your remittance
The Daily Sales Report in the back office uses Canadian headings: net sales, GST, PST and total including tax, with a tax summary for remittance, sales by category, product taxes and payment methods. It can be downloaded as a PDF or emailed nightly to whoever does your books. The Tax Report shows output tax on sales against input tax on purchases and expenses.
Expenses can record the tax paid, so input tax credits are easy to total at filing time. If an accountant prepares your return, Invite Accountant gives them a one-time code to open your books, with a log of every screen they viewed. You can withdraw their access at any time, and it takes effect immediately, so the books are only open while the return is being prepared.
Canadian card terminals
SeroPOS works with Moneris Go terminals over the cloud, with terminal settings such as tip prompts and Interac debit options synced from Moneris. It also works with Global Payments: Global Pay Cloud with no cable or IP setup, the direct network connection, and Terminal Plus, where SeroPOS runs on the Global Payments T650P handheld itself.
Card amounts are sent to the terminal, approvals and tips come back to the sale, and batches can be closed from the till. If you'd like to lower your processing costs, send us a recent statement and we'll quote a rate. Declines show a red screen and print a decline slip, so a busy cashier doesn't miss one, and Check on Terminal confirms a charge that stalled.
QuickBooks, delivery and the rest
On the Pro plan, QuickBooks Desktop for the Canadian edition is supported through the Web Connector, with GST, HST, PST and QST tax codes built in QuickBooks for you and mapped by rate. QuickBooks Online is supported for Canadian companies, pushing customers, items, invoices, payments and expenses automatically every few minutes. A first-time setup wizard matches records already in QuickBooks, so you don't end up with duplicates.
For restaurants, a direct Uber Eats integration is rolling out in Canada, covering menu publishing, store hours, item availability and orders on the till. Prices for SeroPOS are: Standard is $30 a month and Pro is $50, each with a 14-day free trial and no card. Your sales, receipts and reports use the currency you set for the business.
Frequently asked questions
Does SeroPOS handle GST, HST and PST?
Yes. Create the rates and combine them into tax groups, such as GST 5% plus PST 7% for British Columbia, or use a single HST rate. Each product carries its tax, the till calculates it per line, and the Daily Sales Report breaks out GST and PST for remittance.
Is SeroPOS compatible with Moneris?
Yes. SeroPOS works with Moneris Go terminals through the cloud. Enter your Moneris details in the till's settings, and sale amounts go to the terminal, with approvals, tips and refunds handled from SeroPOS. Terminal settings such as tip prompts are synced from Moneris, and a red screen warns when the terminal is in test mode.
Does SeroPOS work with QuickBooks in Canada?
Yes, on Pro. QuickBooks Desktop Canadian edition connects through the Web Connector, with your GST, HST, PST or QST codes created and mapped by rate. QuickBooks Online is supported for Canadian companies and syncs customers, items, invoices, payments and expenses.
Does SeroPOS integrate with Uber Eats in Canada?
A direct Uber Eats integration is rolling out in Canada. It covers publishing your menu, hours and item availability from SeroPOS and receiving orders on the till. Contact us to confirm availability for your restaurant before you plan around it, since the integration is still rolling out.
