Track shipments from packed to delivered
For orders that leave the building, keep the shipping details and status on the sale itself. The Shipments list then shows every order going out, filtered by customer, status or staff, with a packing list ready to print for each one.

Shipping details on every order
When you create an invoice for goods that are being delivered, the shipping section holds everything about the delivery: shipping details, the shipping address, shipping charges, the shipping status, who it was delivered to and any documents. The address search helps fill in the address quickly and correctly. Everything about the delivery stays with the sale.
Shipping charges become part of the invoice total and appear in profit and loss, so you can see what delivery costs you against what you charge. The customer's shipping address is stored on their record, ready for the next order. Repeat orders to the same address take less typing, and mistakes in the address are less likely.
Your own shipping fields
Every business ships differently. In Business Settings, go to Custom Labels and name up to five sale shipping fields. Use them for the carrier, the tracking number, the delivery window or the number of boxes. Each one can be made required, so an order cannot be saved without a tracking number once it is marked as shipped.
These fields appear on the shipping section of the sale and can print on your invoice layout, so the customer sees the same carrier and tracking details you do. The customer has the details they need to track the delivery without calling you, and anyone in the team can answer when they do call.

The Shipments list
Shipments under Sell is the dispatch view. It lists sales with shipping, and filters by location, customer, date range, the user who made the sale, payment status, shipping status and service staff. Use it in the morning to see everything still to go out, or at the end of the day to check what was delivered.
Edit the shipping details from the list without opening the full invoice. When a driver calls in a delivery, update the status and the delivered-to name in a few clicks, and attach the proof of delivery when it comes back. Everyone in the team works from the same list. Customers who call get a quick answer.
Packing lists and paperwork
All Sales has a packing list PDF for every sale. It shows the items and quantities the warehouse needs to pick, so the person packing the box works from a clear list. Print it and put it in the box, or keep it with the order. It also helps when a customer says an item was missing from the box.
Roles control who can see shipments: all shipments, only their own, or only the shipments of sales linked to them as a commission agent. A dispatch person can update shipping without seeing every other part of the sale they do not need. Keeping prices off the packing staff's screens is often reason enough.
Frequently asked questions
Does SeroPOS book couriers or print shipping labels?
No. SeroPOS records the shipping details and status on each sale and gives you a packing list. Book the courier with your carrier as usual, then add the carrier and tracking number in your custom shipping fields. Your custom fields keep that information on the sale.
Can I add a tracking number to an order?
Yes. Name one of the five sale shipping custom fields in Business Settings, Custom Labels, as tracking number. It appears on the sale's shipping section, can be made required, and can print on the invoice. Customers then see it on their copy.
How do I see which orders still need to ship?
Open Shipments under Sell and filter by shipping status. You can also filter by location, customer, date, user, payment status and service staff to narrow the list to one route or one person's orders. It is a good morning checklist.
Can staff see only their own shipments?
Yes. Roles include shipment permissions for all shipments, own shipments only, or shipments for the commission agent. Give dispatch staff the access they need without opening up the rest of the sales screens. Managers keep the full view. Dispatch only sees what it needs.
Do shipping charges show in my reports?
Yes. Shipping charges on sales are part of the invoice total, and the profit and loss report lists sell shipping charges separately. You can see what you charged customers for delivery over any period. Compare them with what delivery costs you.
