All Day totals and Recall on the kitchen display
Two panels on the SeroPOS kitchen display help the line keep up. All Day adds up everything still to cook across open tickets, and Recall brings back any ticket bumped in the last two hours.
Kitchen all day and recall in SeroPOS
Totals across tickets
All Day adds up each item still to cook across every open ticket on the board.
Cook in batches
Seeing nine fries and five burgers at once helps the line drop baskets and fire patties together.
Updates as you bump
As lines are ticked and tickets served, the All Day totals shrink to match.
Two-hour Recall
Recall lists tickets bumped in the last two hours, newest first.
Undo a mistaken bump
Bring back a ticket that was served too early with a tap, instead of rebuilding it from memory.
Part of KDS Mode
Both panels come with the in-app kitchen display, with no extra setup.
All Day: the whole queue in one count
In a busy kitchen, cooks look at one ticket at a time. The grill cook does not know that six more burgers are coming three tickets down. The All Day panel on the SeroPOS kitchen display fixes that by adding up every item still to cook across all open tickets. The term comes from the kitchen call of how many of a dish are on all day.
With a running total, the line can batch work: drop enough fries for the next four tickets, or start a second tray of wings before the tickets for them reach the top. It is most useful at the start of a rush, when a run of tickets lands at once and the line needs to know how much to start cooking before the first plate is due.
How the totals stay accurate
All Day counts items that have not been finished yet. When a cook taps a line on a ticket to tick it off, that item leaves the total. When a ticket is bumped with SERVE, its remaining items leave too. New tickets add to the count as they arrive with their chime.
Because the board filters by station, a station screen shows tickets for that station, so a fryer station can focus on what the fryer has to make. The pass, using All Stations, sees the totals for the whole kitchen, which helps the person running the pass call the next items and keep each station moving at the same pace.
- New ticket arrives: items added to All Day
- Line ticked off: item removed
- Ticket served: remaining items removed
Recall: bring back a bumped ticket
Bumping the wrong ticket happens, especially on a touchscreen with wet hands. Without recall, the order vanishes and someone has to rebuild it from memory or chase the server. The Recall panel keeps every ticket bumped in the last two hours. Open it, find the ticket and bring it back to the board.
Recall also helps when a guest says their food never arrived. The kitchen can check what was served and when, rather than guessing. Bumped tickets are listed newest first, so the one you just served by mistake is always at the top of the panel, ready to bring back while the guest is still waiting.
Where to find them
All Day and Recall are part of KDS Mode, the kitchen display built into the SeroPOS app. Switch a tablet or desktop to KDS Mode in Settings, with a manager's approval, and both panels are on the Kitchen Display board alongside the On time, Attention and Late counters. There is nothing more to set up.
Separately, KDS Cleanup in the side drawer clears cooked and deleted tickets older than an hour on a schedule, so the data behind the board stays light. The cleanup runs every 30 minutes by default, and you can start or stop it, or run a manual cleanup, from the same screen when the board needs a reset.
Frequently asked questions
What does All Day mean on a kitchen display?
All Day is the total number of each item still to be cooked across every open ticket. If four tickets each have two burgers, the All Day count for burgers is eight. It helps the line cook in batches instead of ticket by ticket.
How long can I recall a bumped ticket?
The Recall panel on the SeroPOS kitchen display holds tickets bumped in the last two hours. After that they drop off the panel, and KDS Cleanup clears older cooked tickets on its schedule. Bumped tickets are listed newest first. Newest is at the top.
Does All Day update when cooks tick items off?
Yes. When a cook taps a line on a ticket to mark it done, that item leaves the All Day total. Bumping a ticket with SERVE removes anything left on it. New tickets add their items as they arrive. The panel always shows what is left.
Do I need anything extra for All Day and Recall?
No. Both panels are part of KDS Mode in the SeroPOS app. Switch a tablet or desktop to KDS Mode in Settings, with a manager's approval, and they appear on the Kitchen Display board. Exiting KDS Mode needs the same approval.
Can each station see its own All Day count?
The board filters tickets by station using the station chips, so a station screen shows the tickets for that station. All Stations shows everything, which suits the pass or an expo screen. The totals follow the station you pick. Pick per screen.
